SIL/SDA

Our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services will empower you to lead lives of maximum independence. Within the framework of SIL, we’ll provide round-the-clock support to help with your needs.

Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Structured Support for Independent Living

Pathway Links delivers Supported Independent Living (SIL) services for participants who require ongoing assistance with daily tasks while living in shared or individual accommodation.

Our SIL supports are designed to promote independence, build capacity, and maintain a safe, structured home environment aligned with individual NDIS goals.

We provide support with:

  • Personal care and daily living activities
  • Meal preparation and nutritional support
  • Household management and shared responsibilities
  • Medication prompting and monitoring
  • Development of independent living skills
  • Budgeting and routine planning
  • Community access and appointments
  • Active overnight and 24-hour supports (where required)

Each support arrangement is delivered in accordance with NDIS Practice Standards and is tailored to the participant’s functional needs, funding, and long-term goals.

Our approach is proactive, we monitor, review, and adjust supports to ensure they remain appropriate, effective, and outcome-focused.

Finding the Right Living Arrangement

Every participant’s living preferences and support needs differ.

Pathway Links assists participants to:

  • Transition into SIL arrangements
  • Match with compatible housemates
  • Maintain stability within existing homes
  • Adjust supports as circumstances change
  • Liaise with families, guardians, and allied health professionals

Whether support is delivered in a shared setting or individual arrangement, our priority is safety, consistency, and respect.

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)

Accommodation for High Support Needs

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is designed for participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs.

SDA funding covers the cost of purpose-built housing that meets strict accessibility and safety standards.

Pathway Links works collaboratively with registered SDA providers to assist participants in:

  • Determining SDA eligibility
  • Exploring appropriate housing categories (Improved Liveability, Fully Accessible, High Physical Support, Robust)
  • Coordinating housing transitions
  • Ensuring alignment between accommodation and daily support services

We ensure housing and support are integrated, not fragmented, creating a stable foundation for long-term independence.

SIL & SDA – Integrated Support Systems

While SIL and SDA are funded separately, they operate most effectively when aligned.

Pathway Links coordinates closely with housing providers, clinical teams, families, and guardians to ensure:

  • Risk management frameworks are in place
  • Support ratios meet assessed needs
  • Care plans are implemented consistently
  • Ongoing reviews maintain quality and compliance

Our model prioritises structured environments that support behavioural stability, skill development, and community participation.

A Measured & Participant-Focused Approach

We recognise that transitioning into supported living is significant.

That is why our process begins with:

  1. Comprehensive needs assessment
  2. Risk and compatibility review
  3. Clear support plan development
  4. Gradual transition planning
  5. Ongoing review and adjustment

Pathway Links is committed to delivering supports that are reliable, accountable, and aligned with NDIS standards, ensuring participants experience stability, dignity, and measurable progress.
